PHILIP G. COBURN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The Philip G. Coburn Elementary School (Grades Pre-K-5) serves the most densely populated neighborhood in the town with the highest proportion of English language learners. A feasibility study concluded that new construction was the optimal solution to meeting educational goals. Educational program spaces support different modalities of learning, individual and group instruction, physical activity, long-term projects, discussion, and problem-solving, collaboration between pupils, and for group presentation. The school has been designed to be flexible in order to accommodate future needs. Classrooms are clustered by grade level and special education spaces are available through the school.
