BASEBALL HEROES: WORKS FROM THE JAY H. BAKER COLLECTION

The Baker Museum, Naples, FL

Works from the Jay H. Baker collection was an exhibition that featured more than 100 iconic artifacts related to the careers of five Yankees: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle and Derek Jeter from the collection of Jay H. Baker. The idea of a memory box was used as a design strategy to organize and display the wide variety of sizes and mediums of the artifacts. Objects were organized roughly chronologically into massive frames on the walls, and each “box” told a story. The exhibit also featured documentary videos and an interactive space that allowed visitors to be immersed in the subject in different ways.
